Pardis Technology Park (PTP) as the region’s paradise of technology, under the auspices of Vice-Presidency for science and technology and a fourteen-entity Board of Trustees comprising of corporate and real bodies from ministries, science centers and academies, headed by the First Vice President, pursuing the goals of commercialization of the research results and, establishing sustainable ties between University and Industry, is located in a now 60 hectares area, in three phases, (expandable to 1000 hectares) at 20 km distance to the northeast vicinity of Tehran.

The original plan of creating a network for technology transfer and exchange among the eight Islamic developing countries (D8) was on the agenda of the fourth conference of senior experts of D8 member states in 2008. The Network was designed to facilitate and accelerate the access to Technology information of the Member States and creating a context for technological cooperation based on a dynamic portal as its infrastructure.

Here, a summary is described:

  1.  Proposing the initial plan at the fourth conference of D8 senior experts of Industry in Bali, Indonesia (November 2008)
  2. Proposing the altered plan at the fifth conference of D8 senior experts of Industry in Tehran (February 2010)
  3. The restatement of the plan at the sixth conference of D8 senior experts of Industry in Istanbul, Turkey (October 2011)
  4. Approving the proposal (D-8TTEN) in the third conference of Ministers of Industry in Dhaka, Bangladesh (October 2012)
  5. Member States agreed to establish D-8 TTEN during the 3rd D-8 Ministerial Meeting on Industry (2012)
  6. The feasibility of allocating a credit line for the TTEN network (January 2013)
  7. The first brainstorming session on “transferring knowledge and expertise among OIC Member countries” based on D-8 TTEN with the attendance of Islamic Development Bank, COMSTEC, SESRIC, Center for Innovation and Technology Cooperation and D-8 TTEN Secretariat in Turkey (January 2013)
  8. The first High Council Meeting of D-8 TTEN was held in the I.R. Iran (2013)
  9. Network web portal was launched to share technology offers and requests in all the fields of S&T (2013);
  10. D-8 TTEN orientation session for the Ambassadors of the Member countries (May 2013)
  11. Holding the First meeting of the Supreme Council of the network in Tehran (October 2013)
  12. Second High Council Meeting of D-8 TTEN was held in Nigeria (2014)
  13. The second brainstorming session on “transferring knowledge and expertise among OIC Member States” based on D-8 TTEN with the attendance of Islamic Development Bank, COMSTEC, SESRIC, Center for Innovation and Technology Cooperation and D-8 TTEN Secretariat in Iran (March 2014)
  14. Participation of eight technology owners of D8 member countries in Jeddah Innovation exhibition on the periphery of the fortieth anniversary of the Islamic Development Bank to receive financial support from the Islamic Development Bank to transfer technologies to member countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (July 2014)
  15. Receiving and sharing 160 technologies from member countries (October 2013 up to now)
  16. Rewarding the best technology transfer contract signed among D-8 and OIC member states were ratified (2014)
  17. Holding meetings and technology tours concerning the potential of the Member countries (April 2014)
  18. Allocating two free booths for each member country in the International Innovation and Technology Exhibition (INOTEX2014) in Tehran (June 2014)
  19. The first D-8 TTEN Advisory Council meeting attended by Iran’s experts in the field of science and technology (August 2014)
  20. The initial measures towards technology transfer of Solvent gelatin from Iran to Turkey (September 2014 up to now)
  21. Proposing three technologies from D-8 member countries to the Islamic Development Bank to receive financial support for technology transfer based on strategic partnership of IDB with D8 Member countries (Member Countries Partnership Strategy) (October 2014 Up to now)
  22. The second D-8 TTEN Supreme Council meeting in Nigeria (December 2014)
  23. Third High Council Meeting of D-8 TTEN was held in Malaysia (2015)
  24. Iran Focal Point organized Technology Transfer Workshop in Iran (2016)
  25. D-8 TTEN Technology Transfer Award was dedicated to the best contract signed in 2016 among nominated candidates (2016);
