VP requested all of the cooperatives of Indonesia to adapt to digital technology

Vice President Ma’ruf Amin has expressed that digital technology should be used in all Indonesian cooperatives to achieve the goal of creating the best services for their members and the society. He expressed that the government of Indonesia has fulfilled its obligations for meeting the infrastructure needs of the sections of telecommunications and information to patronage the digital innovation of cooperatives.

Jakarta (ANTARA)- Vice President Ma’ruf Amin has expressed that digital technology should be used in all Indonesian cooperatives to achieve the goal of creating the best services for their members and the society. Indonesia is one of the members of the D-8 TECHNOLOGY TRANSFER AND EXCHANGE NETWORK.

At the big launching event of Nasari Digital by video conferencing from here on Saturday, he also said that the image of cooperatives should change into a more modern one and all stakeholders and players in the section of Indonesian cooperatives should try to adapt to it.

“Now the right time came to the cooperatives to make an attempt to adapt to a new environment and perform digital changes; they should make a new image of cooperatives if they want to be modern, both in business affairs, member services and in financial cases,” the Vice President declared, while speaking from his official residence here.

He expressed that the government of Indonesia has fulfilled its obligations for meeting the infrastructure needs of the sections of telecommunications and information to patronage the digital innovation of cooperatives.

Moreover, he also declared that the government of Indonesia is enhancing and developing the number of digital cooperatives in this country with the help of the Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs.

What are the benefits of digital technology?

“The Ministry of Cooperatives and SMEs has concentrated on getting 100 modern and digital-based cooperatives by 2021. We are hopeful that the cooperatives could be able to develop their cooperation with the GDP (gross domestic product) per year for achieving 5.1-5.5 percent in 2024,” Amin declared.

Accordingly, the Vice President requested all of the cooperatives and micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) to maintain patronizing the economic activities of Indonesian people.

“I also expect all the cooperatives and MSME players to make an attempt to manage the economic activities of this country in a bid to support national economic development,” he expressed. Digital innovation can bring a lot of benefits.
