TIM 2022 Technology Investment Meeting

The TIM2022 Technology Iinvestment Meeting with the aim of investing companies of Group D8 and other participating countries in startups will be held on March 2 and 3, 1400. Deadline for sending startup plans to present a product or the ability to attract capital (To the address: TIM.D8tten.com) is until November 20

TIM is an international event on the D8tten Technology Transfer and Exchange Network (D8-TTEN), which is held annually with the aim of technology investing trough 8 Islamic member countries (Malaysia, Indonesia, Iran, Pakistan, Egypt, Nigeria, Turkey and Bangladesh).

This event has already been held in 2017, 2020 and 2021, and appropriate collaborations and investments have been signed between the members in these years.

The event has various programs including; presenting startups with the aim of attracting investors, specialized panels, workshop courses, signing memoranda of understanding and joint venture agreements, and visiting the technology centers of country.

In TIM2022, in addition to investors from D8 group member countries, presence of investors from Russia, Syria, Bulgaria, China, Afghanistan and other European countries are being followed and consulted.

Startups that interested in attracting foreign investors can participate in TIM2022 in which they presenting their technological products and services with a fundraising approach.

The idea of cooperation among major Muslim developing countries was mooted by Prof. Dr. Necmettin Erbakan, the 10th Prime Minister of Turkey, during a Seminar on “Cooperation in Development” which was held in Istanbul in October 1996.

This conference was the first step towards the establishment of D-8 and it was only after a series of preparatory meetings that D-8 was set up officially and began its activities.

The objectives of D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation are to improve member states’ position in the global economy, diversify and create new opportunities in trade relations, enhance participation in decision-making at international level, and improve standards of living.

Ambassador Dato’ Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari from Malaysia is currently the Secretary General of the D-8 Organization with its Secretariat based in Istanbul-Turkey.
